Dear Your Excellency Marshal Kim Jong Un,

Warmest greetings of Solidarity to Your Excellency MARSHAL KIM JONG UN, Supreme Leader of the Korean people, party, armed forces and State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

The Philippines-Korea Solidarity and Friendship Society (PKSFS) extends sincere greetings to your Excellency and to the Korean people on the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) on September 9, 1948 led by the great Leader President Kim Il Sung.  It is known as the great historical event in the emancipation of the working masses of the world.

We, the leaders and members of the Philippines-Korea Solidarity and Friendship Society (PKSFS) together with the progressive Filipino people and organizations extend our sincere and highest respect and admiration to the people of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

Juche Korea:  75 year-long history of defending independence, justice and peace

Today, as we celebrate worldwide the Juche Korea’s 75 year-long history of defending independence, justice and peace, we would like to extend our sincere recognition to H.E. President Kim Il Sung, author of the Juche idea, a guiding idea of an independent new era which is important in human history.  Juche idea which came about in 1930 was based on scientific analysis of the new times.  It reflects the aspirations of the masses and is grounded on the principle that they are the masters of the revolution and can carve out their own destiny.

President Kim II Sung has proven the Juche idea in practice, developed it in-depth while fighting for national liberation and building a new society.  That the DPRK was not adversely affected by the worldwide collapse of socialist states towards the end of the 20th century proves that it is a great socialist power with independence in politics, self-reliant economy and national defense, a unique social system wherein the people are the masters of everything and everything serves the people.

President Kim Il Sung was passionately committed to global independence. He extended moral and material assistance to many countries in Africa, in fighting for national liberation and building new societies, and to Cuba, Vietnam and many others struggling against imperialism and aggression.  He resolutely fought for unity based on independence.

Great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il is widely known to have created an army-centered politics, which is unique in the history of global political activity.  He focused his efforts on increasing the country’s military strength and prioritized military affairs.  This was crucial in overcoming the unprecedented serious difficulties which the DPRK experienced in the 1990s when the United States led the Western allies in applying extreme pressure on the DPRK in their attempts to isolate it.  DPRK was then faced with grave economic and food crisis.  But the DPRK prevailed by defending its sovereignty and socialism under the patriotic army-based policy.

These achievements resulted from Comrade Kim Jong Il being a great master of the Juche idea, an idea devoted totally to the country and people.

Today, the DPRK, under the leadership of Comrade Kim Jong Un, is making remarkable economic progress in the struggle for the defense of its sovereignty and against the decades-long sanctions and blockade by the US and its forces.  His ideal is “We serve the people!” and “Everything for the people!”  Under Comrade Kim Jong Un’s guidance, there were a number of Juche-oriented, modern, IT-based and scientific model factories and enterprises built with advanced management methods and good experience generalized throughout the country.  This resulted in the rapid development of the country’s heavy industry with defense industry as its backbone while its light industry is making an active contribution to improving the people’s standard of living.

Looking back, 78 years have passed since the Korean nation was divided by outside forces led by the United States.  Today, the Korean nation has not yet achieved the reunification of Korea and the Korean people and nation continue to suffer from the pain of this division.

The DPRK has put forward crucial proposals to improve inter-Korean relations and national reunification and made sincere efforts for its implementation.  These efforts did not bear fruit due to the obstructive moves by the anti-reunification forces within and outside the DPRK led by the US and their puppets in the southern part of the country.

However complicated the situation in the Korean Peninsula now, and whatever obstacles and difficulties they face, we all stand in solidarity that the Korean people in the future will one day achieve their hope for an independent reunification of their country.

Korea will definitely achieve national reunification which is the lifetime wish of its leaders -- President Kim Il Sung, Comrade Kim Jong Il and now Comrade Kim Jong Un.

Independent and Peaceful Reunification of KOREA is the greatest desire of the nation and to build a dignified and prosperous country!

We, your Filipino Comrades and Friends, for many years now have been in support and Solidarity with the Korean people’s struggle for an independent and peaceful reunification of Korea.

We have organized various activities in our country in cooperation and coordination with the Korea-Philippines Friendship Society to inform the Filipinos about US intervention in the DPRK and how we can show our support and solidarity with the Korean people.  We have organized signature campaigns expressing our international support and solidarity with the Korean people's righteous struggle for the independent and peaceful reunification of Korea.

Forums, pickets and leaf-letting infront of the US Embassy and mass mobilizations during special days of the DPRK were held together with other Philippine progressive organizations in support of the DPRK and against US imperialism. Webinars were the activities mainly held during the pandemic. The Korea-Philippines Friendship Society sent speeches for the Webinars as PKSFS requested.

We held forums among workers, peasants, women, youth and students, professionals and other sectors and recruited them to be members of the Philippines-Korea Solidarity and Friendship Society.  We issued statements on important days and events in the DPRK.  We also organized visits to the DPRK of our leaders, members and friends from the different cities and provinces in our country, on important occasions of the DPRK. These visits were really educational and further strengthened our resolve to be in solidarity with the Korean people.

We also received the visits of Korean comrades to the Philippines.  We brought them to visit our leaders and members in the different parts of the country.  Various activities were organized during these visits outside and in Manila. These were helpful for us to directly meet and hear about the situation, the struggles and the achievements of the Korean people while fighting US intervention.

We hope that we will continue these exchange visits as soon as possible when both countries will be open for outside visitors. These visits and participation in various activities really strengthened our friendship and solidarity relations as a people.

Onward with the independent and Peaceful Reunification of Korea! KOREA is ONE!
