A Letter to Marshal Kim Jong Un from NZ DPRK Society
Dr. Tim Beal, Chairman NZ DPRK Society
His Excellency, Marshall Kim Jong Un, Chairman Workers Party of Korea, Chairman State Affairs Commission DPRK, Supreme Commander KPA
Your Excellency,
On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea on 9th September 1948 we wish to extend our congratulations to you and the people of your country.
Over these 75 years the DPR Korea has withstood the onslaught of imperialism and achieved many successes. Your grandfather and father have played a distinguished and historical role during those difficult times. Under your leadership your country has developed a powerful nuclear deterrent and the United States has been compelled to re-enter negotiations to accept a peace regime on the Korean peninsula. These have not yet borne fruit but eventually the Korean people will achieve their birth right of a peaceful, prosperous and unified Korea. In the meantime you and you forefathers have provided much-need stability to the DPR Korea, in great contrast to the American-dominated South.
The present situation is getting increasingly perilous. The Yoon administration in south Korea is very unpopular and is increasing its subservience to the US, engaging in provocative military exercises and, ignoring the history of Japanese colonialism, is building a subordinate relationship with the Kishida administration in Japan. In contrast, the independent stance of the DPR Korea is a force for stability on the Korean peninsula, the region and the world.
In this way you are continuing the proud history of your country over the last 75 years.
