Juche Korea: 75 years of independence, justice, and protection of peace
On August 15, 1945, President Kim Il Sung, who waged a partisan struggle under Japanese imperial rule, won the liberation of his homeland from Japanese imperialism. On September 9, 1948, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea was born. This year, I would like to congratulate you once again on the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Republic.
However, just when the path to independent Korea appeared, American imperialism plotted to divide Korea into north and south and establish a puppet government in the south, starting the Korean War in 1950. Korea won this battle with indomitable spirit, and on July 27, 1953, the armistice was reached. This year also marks the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Korean War and the Fatherland Liberation War.
With his revolutionary ideology and mental strength, President Kim Il-sung laid the practical foundation for Korean socialism. In the face of the threat of war from US imperialism, the people of the republic have united as one to advance the construction of socialism based on the Juche idea, without retreating one step. Inheriting his legacy, General Secretary Kim Jong-il overcame the ``march of hardship'' in the 1990s, when the socialist economic bloc collapsed and natural disasters were added, through military-first politics, and General Secretary Kim Jong-un put the people's lives first by following the path of self-reliance. is developing Korean socialism. Even now, the people of Korea and the world still respect and respect President Kim Il Sung for his great achievements, and in April 2023 we celebrated the Festival of the Sun, the 111th anniversary of his birth.
While calling for the independent peaceful reunification of the divided North and South Korea and aiming for stability in East Asia, US imperialism is still strengthening its military system and continuing to threaten nuclear attacks against the Republic. The Japanese government is also following in the footsteps of American imperialism, evoking the threat of Korea every time a Korean projectile flies by, and instilling hatred towards Korea in the Japanese population. Furthermore, the discriminatory policy against citizens living in Japan still continues. In order to protect the peace of the people, North Korea has advanced the development of nuclear technology and built a relationship with the United States on equal terms. Juche Korea is always at the forefront of the socialist struggle for independence. The people's economy is steadily developing under the five-year national economic development plan announced at the 8th Party Congress in 2021, and we are working on the 12 important issues set forth. All of this is for the purpose of improving the lives of the people, and this makes it possible to build socialism by uniting the people in a ``frontal breakthrough''.
However, compared to capitalism, which aims to increase profits, Korean socialism upholds the Juche idea, demonstrates the essence of labor, communality and cooperation, and achieves social development for the people. It is also inevitable to create existence from.
I would like to express my sincere respect to the Korean people who adhere to socialist principles and work toward independent economic construction, and I would like to once again praise the achievements of President Kim Il Sung, who laid the foundation for this. We also want to solidify our determination for friendship and solidarity and work on the Japan-North Korea friendship and solidarity movement in Japan.
