• Juche Korea: 75 Years for Independence, Justice and Defense of Peace

ON the occasion of 75th founding anniversary of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), I am very much honored to be part of the International E-seminar "Juche Korea: 75 Years for Independence, Justice and Defense of Peace" on behalf of the National Committee for the study of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism of Ethiopia, with my appreciation and thanks to the Secretariat of the Organizing Committee of International Festival in Praise of Great Persons of Mt. Paektu, the sponsor of this seminar, for the invitation extended to me.

Before to start my remarks, I would like to express highest tribute and sincere respect to H.E.Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the DPRK September 9, 2023 marks the 75th founding anniversary of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

September 9 is a significant day when President Kim Il Sung, the great leader of the Korean people, proclaimed the founding of the DPRK before the world. The founding of the DPRK by President Kim Il Sung on September. 9, 1948 was a great historic event as he successfully realized the Korean people's long-cherished desire for a genuine government of working people and was an event of remarkable significance in the Korean nation's history of 5 000 years and a great victory won by the Korean people in the struggle for achieving independence.

With the founding of the DPRK, the Korean nation was born again as a dignified and powerful people capable of shaping its destiny by itself and that the DPRK, once eclipsed on the world map, emerged as a fully-fledged independent and sovereign state on the international arena. Over the past seven decades the DPRK has advanced dynamically towards the goal of building itself into a powerful socialist country.

The whole course covered by the DPRK can be called the process of applying the Juche idea and is associated with the exploits of the peerlessly great men who had devoted their all to the country and people.

The President Kim Il Sung is the father of socialist Korea as he led the long and arduous anti-Japanese armed struggle, rescuing the Korean people from the miserable destiny of colonial slaves and putting them forward as masters of the country.

The DPRK turned into a power independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in defence, a socialist fortress, under the leadership of President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il.

Under the outstanding wisdom and indefatigable guidance, President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il formulated the Juche idea as the guiding ideology for the state and developed DPRK into an advantageous and powerful socialist country, while finding perfect solutions to all the problems arising in the construction of the state and its activities.

The DPRK boasts its history resplendent with victory as it has advanced straight ahead without making any slight mistake in formulating its lines and without experiencing any political upheaval, that it is a history of dramatic change as the country has achieved the greatest transformation under the worst-ever conditions on the strength of self-reliance and self-development, and that it can be defined as a history of creation since it has set an example in the present era for other nations to follow in building a people-centred government.

Herein lies the greatness of the DPRK's 75 year-long history. As the land of eternal Sun, the DPRK is the greatest patriotic legacy bequeathed to the coming generations by the President Kim Il Sung and the Chairman Kim Jong Il, father of the nation and peerless patriot, who had devoted all their lives to building up the country. The 75 years of the DPRK is a history of great struggle and victory, and great creation and changes, in which the Korean people defended the independence and dignity of the country and built up a powerful socialist country surmounting the storm of the revolution under the leadership of their great leaders and their great party.

The DPRK has advanced along the road of victory and glory overcoming unprecedented hardships and trials in acute confrontation with the imperialist forces seeking aggression throughout the historic course from the period of laying the foundation for nation building to the present when the building of a socialist power is under way.

In the course of the arduous struggle to build a new Korea, a new society, the Koreans blazed the trail for accomplishing the cause of independence against imperialism, the socialist cause, performed miracles of history and immortal feats and gained precious experiences. Socialism collapsed in several countries and, availing themselves of this opportunity, the imperialist allied forces directed the spearhead of their anti-socialist offensive to the DPRK. Even in such worst situation, the banner of socialism remained flying in the DPRK. Therefore, the 75-year history of the DPRK shines brilliantly and socialist Korea is exalting its prestige and might as the citadel of independence and fortress of socialism.

Now, The DPRK is dynamically advancing to attain the status of a powerful socialist country it chose. Pursuant to the ideas and intentions of H.E.Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, the Korean people have achieved remarkable successes in their struggle for achieving the comprehensive development and rejuvenation of socialism, braving unprecedentedly harsh trials and ordeals.

H.E.Kim Jong Un, President of the State Affairs, has developed the country’s national defence capability to the highest plane despite the severest trials and difficulties. The hostile forces’ moves for sanction grew more vicious.

However, thanks to powerful war deterrent and national defence capability provided under H.E.Kim Jong Un’s do-or-die determination, the enemy’s challenges were smashed to smithereens. He achieved the great historic cause of raising the country’s strategic position to the highest plane by building up the most powerful national defence capability at an exponential speed and in a shortest possible period.

It is commonplace in the modern world that many countries are moving under the baton of others and toeing the line of big powers.

However, as it is led by H.E.Kim Jong Un, President of the State Affairs, the DPRK is demonstrating to the full its sovereignty and might. Today, it is recognized in the world that no force can break socialism in the DPRK. The Korean-style socialism will be ever-victorious.
