• International E-seminar in Celebration of the 80th Birth Anniversary of General Kim Jong Il

DEAR OCIFPGPP members, Dear friends,

This year – 2022, we, all friends around the world will celebrate 110-th birth day of President Kim Il Sung and the 80-th birth day of Leader Kim Jong Il. All our activities will be based on the ideas and determined efforts of two great Korean sons to implement their great ideas in the name of better prosperous Korea.

We have one more reason to be inspired in our thoughts, written and spoken. This is the 10-th anniversary of having Comrade Kim Jong Un, President of the state affairs of DPRK on the highest positions in the Party and the state of Korea.

All these meaningful reasons are very special motives for us to look on the current global political situation with so many challenges and threats in front of the states and people.

Keeping in mind the unbelievable distance between regular people and countries under the Covid – 19 restrictions we may find another way to open our minds and knowledge. We need to wide our perspective of their ideas in order to be more adequate explaining what happened and how to do with it. What is possible to be changed and what will always be ever steady?

Three Pillars

For our presentation we need to focus on the Korean experience with Chuche ideas and Songun doctrine. According to our discussions here are three major things: Good Education, Strong Discipline and Deep Belief. Everybody who has been in Korea, knowing or studying about Korea will agree how vivid are those three pillars there.

It is easy to explain the whole life and activities of the beloved leader Kim Jong Il. Many people are curious why such a strong confident spirit marks the family of the Korean leader.

My modest opinion is that in the very beginning of his maturity Kim Jong Il had the chance to live in a very fruitful soil, proper for creativity and talent gifts. It is not by chance, very early in his education years he had worked hard to establish the ideological unity in the party and whole society. This is very important contribution to combine Chuche ideas formulated by Kim Il Sung with leading ideas of Korean revolution.

The best explanation of Kim Jong Il’s contribution for Korean revolution are Kim Ill Song’s own words which sound like a poem. “I sawed the seeds of Chuche ideas Kim Jong Il had cultivated a thick dense forest”. What a great evaluation – the glorious father to estimate his son’s achievements.

As a supreme leader of the Korean army in a very difficult moment of the history, all political situation in a global measure with the beginning of splitting the socialist system in former Soviet Union and Eastern block countries. The bilateral relations between all those countries and Korea faced enormous difficulties and practically all relations were stopped. At the same time there were a chain of natural disasters, which destroyed the infrastructure of the country and the whole agriculture sector. The time has been convenient for American imperialism as it tried to push the Korean socialism in a direct ideological confrontation.

That was the reason historian scholars to name that period “Difficult march”. The whole enemy propaganda expected “The Korean country to collapse any moment, or in near future”.

It was not the end of the troubles for Koreans. That year 1994 their great leader Kim Il Sung passed away and Kim Jong Il was appointed to take the whole responsibility for the state and the nation. Heavy time demands heavy decisive solutions in order to prevent the socialists achievements. That was the best time of Songun ideas. Surrounded by enemy capitalism and permanent aggression threat Kim Jong Il appointed Korean army as a major shield or guard of socialist country. His very short and synonymous expression “Let us take in our hands the national defense and socialist development. And when the Party takes the decision we will be able to make everything.” The soldiers of Korean people’s army did a miracle work building the most important objects for the economic development of the country. The enthusiasm of the military, civilian and villagers was in all the country. That is why Korea successfully got over the most difficult problems connected with industrial and agricultural development. The astonished success was reached when people started to produce fertilizers agricultural fibres and ferron metals based on local raw materials as well as established a big amount of small hydroelectric power stations.

The key meaning for the successful implementing of the Chuche ideas and Songun doctrine in order Korean country to survive was the hard work and great success of Korean scholars, engineers in the sphere of rocket and nuclear technology. They succeeded to test in an excellent way series of satellites with original Korean rockets and experienced several nuclear tests under the leading role of young assertive leader Kim Jong Un. This was the way Korea to report the next stage of establishing its own nuclear potential.

The great efforts in front of the country now are to fasten economy, to create independent economic development and to increase the living standard of the people and welfare of the country. Thanks to Korean government the state became an unavoidable factor for the peace and security in the region of the Korean peninsula. Korea made possible to be signed series of important documents as a guarantee toward more trust and will for better understanding among people and nations.

This report with following discussion was one example how our Bulgarian-Korean friendship association and the members of “Library Kim Il Sung” are working together in this very difficult situation with Covid -19 restrictions. We are thinking how to organize the association in the future in order to keep the collective spirit and common traditions. We are trying to find proper place to get together small groups of not more than 20 persons. The specific of new time requires we to find a new model to realize our activities through the time.

Next theme connected with report and on line meeting is about the setting up the new town. How it is possible, why it is necessary, what is the harmony among real building and metaphoric establishment of totally new place for people. How is Kim Jong Un coordinating all the process of erecting Samjiong town. One modern, healthful and convenient place for Koreans.

Final remark. As far as we face a lot of difficulties to get together, to have our traditional meetings in Library or Friendship association and because we respect the regulations most of our next events will be on line.
