WE are reverently looking back upon the exploits H.E. Kim Jong Il performed before the times and history on his 80th birth anniversary.
He was the great man who devoted his all to the prosperity of the country and happiness of the people till the last moments of his life.
H.E. Kim Jong Il was a genuine leader of the people.
He regarded the people as the most valuable beings and made indefatigable efforts for their happiness.
He, who regarded the interest of the people as the starting point of his all thinking and activities, spared nothing for their happiness.
Under his wise leadership, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea founded by H.E Kim Il Sung has developed into an invincible socialist fortress.
As H.E. Kim Jong Il adhered to the firm independent line, the DPRK could remain unmoved when socialism collapsed in different countries one after another at the end of the last century.
He made a great contribution to realizing the reunification of the Korea and ensuring the peace and security of the Korean peninsula and the world.
He provided two north-south summits and made sure that the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and the October 4 declaration were adopted to open up a radical phase for Korea's reunification.
Thanks to him, a new era of national independence and great national unity, called the June 15 era of reunification, was opened up in the peninsula.
He was a dear friend who extended support and solidarity to the peoples of the countries in their struggle for justice, truth, independence from imperialist ways of ruling the world.
His rare charisma attracted all people, irrespective of their differences in nationality, national identity, religious belief and political view.
The world progressives highly praise H.E. Kim Jong Il as the greatest benefactor and peerlessly great sage as he made an undying contribution to the cause of global independence.
The image of H.E. Kim Jong Il, the true leader of the people, will always be cherished in the mind of the Korean people and progressive mankind of the world.
