The Greatest Achievement of H.E. Kim Jong Il

Mr. Chairperson,
I am very pleased to be able to participate in the Internet Seminar "Kim Jong Il – Eternal Incarnation of Juche Korea" about the great figures and achievements of the Great Leader of the Korean people, Kim Jong Il, organized by the Organizing Committee of the International Festival in Praise of the Great Persons of Mount Paektu.
This year marks the 80th anniversary of the birth of His Excellency Kim Jong Il. We commemorated the 10th anniversary of his passing away last year.
Whenever I look back on H.E. Kim Jong Il's life, I can't help but mention the achievements he has built for Korea and the world.
The greatest achievement of H.E. Kim Jong Il in his life was that he defended socialism in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
When socialism collapsed in Eastern Europe and everyone was worried about the future of the DPRK, H.E. Kim Jong Il published several publications including “Socialism is a Science”, explaining one by one the steadfastness of Korean-style socialism and the inevitability of its victory.
He also created a miracle that surprised the world by raising high the banner of the Army-First Policy (Songun) and arousing all the Korean people as one person to the struggle for the victorious advance of socialism.
The fact that Juche-based socialism has been firmly adhered to in the DPRK and continues to thrive today gives great encouragement to the oppressed people of the world and brings fear to the imperialists.
It is a fact that everyone knows about the extraordinary contribution that H.E. Kim Jong Il has made to the literary and artistic fields of the DPR Korea. And the education system that supports children as Kings of the country and the people's health system, advanced science and technology etc. are making the future of Korea brighter.
The achievement of H.E. Kim Jong Il is, in the next place, the great contribution to the struggle for the cause of national liberation and world independence of the peoples of the Third World, including the Arab peoples.
H.E. Kim Jong Il has firmly upheld the stance of anti-imperialist independence throughout his life without any change.
DPRK did not tolerate even the smallest attacks and invasions of imperialists and Zionists against the Arab people, strongly supporting the just struggle of the Palestinian people for its right to life and development. All this is based on the leadership and loyalty of H.E. Kim Jong Il to the progressive peoples of the world.
H.E. Kim Jong Il never gave up on the principles ahead of imperialists' threats or conciliation, but instead laid out cannons at the enemy's guns and knives, devoting all of his heart and soul to the world's independence.
Progressives in Asia, Africa and Latin America will never forget the contribution of H.E. Kim Jong Il, who took the lead in fighting the imperialists' tyranny and oppression, which was growing weaker day by day.
Today, the heroic Korean people are actively pushing forward to complete H.E. Kim Jong Il's cause until the end under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, who has firmly inherited the great cause.
This year also marks the last 10 years since General Secretary Kim Jong Un led the Korean people. In the past 10 years, DPRK has truly achieved a new breakthrough.
As I went to Pyongyang a few years ago and saw it myself, Ryomyong Street, Future Scientist Street, world-class children's entertainment facilities, and cultural and entertainment facilities for the people etc. all of those are monumental structures that are hard to be find anywhere else in the world and masterpieces demonstrating the majesty of the DPRK and the happiness of the Korean people.
The imperialists are now putting pressure on DPR Korea. However, the Korean people who embody the guts of H.E. Kim Jong Il and H.E. Kim Jong Un as they are, do not hesitate.
Nowhere else in the world has the power to break the strong will and spirit of the Korean people who are firmly united around their Leader, believing in the legitimacy of their cause and continuing their march forward for the final victory.
No one who loves justice will be able to turn away from the spirit of self-reliance and anti-imperialist independence of the Korean people.
As it did in the past, we, the Afro-Asian People's Solidarity Organization, will continue to conduct a more vigorous movement of solidarity for the DPR Korea and the Korean people, who are making strides forward for peace and reunification of the Korean Peninsula as well as peace and independence in the world.
Kim Jong Il’s great deed and fortitude will live on forever. Thank you.
