• International E-seminar in Celebration of the 80th Birth Anniversary of General Kim Jong Il

DEAR, Comrades and Fellow participants,

It is a joyous moment for the supporters and friends of the Korean Revolution from Tanzania to participate in this Internet International Seminar on the occasion of “the Day of the Shining Star”, the 80th anniversary of the birthday of H.E. Kim Jong Il.

And allow me to extend my warm greetings to all participants from all over the world.  Allow me to congratulate on this Internet International Seminar on the occasion of “the Day of Shining Star”.

In this discussion, I would like to note that the principles set forth by the Juche idea serve as guidelines for consolidating the international unity of the anti-imperialist, independent forces and that H.E Kim Jong Il made a brilliant contribution to the independence cause of anti-imperialism and to safeguarding the sovereignty and dignity of the DPRK by his energetic ideological and theoretical activities.

Now, the world is witnessing a dynamic struggle for achieving the independent development of all countries and nations by rejecting domination and subordination, establishing international relations based on independence and implementing democratization of the international society.

This reality testifies to the validity of the Juche idea, which clarifies the truth that the aspirations of countries and nations for independence can never be checked.

The Juche idea, philosophy of independence, maintains that man is the master of his own destiny and he has the strength with which to hew it out. It correctly reflects the fundamental aspirations of mankind for independence and the trend of the times and provides scientific answers to the important questions arising in carving out the destiny of countries and nations.

Countries may vary in terms of territory, population and economic development, but there can never be senior and junior countries or those that should dominate others or be dominated. All of them are equal and independent. This leads to the conclusion that the international relations should be equal and fair, so that high-handedness and arbitrariness of specific countries cannot be tolerated in the international arena and every country and nation can exercise their rights to independence as members of the international society. A new democratic and independent world can fully realize the independence of all countries and nations.

The new independent world clarified by the Juche idea is a world which is free from domination and subordination, interference and pressure, and aggression and plunder and where all countries and nations exercise their independent rights as masters of their own destiny. In other words, it is a world where a democratic international order that ensures complete equality, mutual respect and the exercise of sovereignty among countries is established and strictly observed. In this world every country will exercise its right to choose its own destiny on its own terms and cooperate with other countries on an equal footing for the interests common to mankind. Just like as a human being I have a right to choose who I associate with so nations should have exclusive rights to choose which country they relate to without fear of reprisal and sanctions from the so-called super powers.

In this world, the UN cannot be used as a means for implementing the high-handedness and arbitrariness of a specific country, as we have continued to see. UN belongs to every nation. We expect it to be neutral and serve every nation equally. That is the only way we will recognise its relevance.

The stand the DPRK government has maintained consistently, particularly its response to the sanctions the UN imposed upon the country for the exercise of its right to self-defence, is quite a courageous decision aimed at making a breakthrough in the current international order and establishing new independent international relations. In one of its statements it exposed that the UN resolutions were an outcome of the high-handedness of a specific country and declared that they were all null and void. UN became blind to the fact that DPRK has a right to self-defence and to pursue its national interest and security.

Strengthening international solidarity and cooperation based on independence is also essential for rejecting the high-handedness and arbitrariness of the imperialists and dominationists and building a free and peaceful new world, free of intimidation and domination by the few.

H.E Kim Jong Il made a brilliant contribution to the Independence cause of anti-imperialism and to safeguarding the sovereignty and dignity of the DPRK through his energetic ideological and theoretical activities.

On June 19, 1964, 57 years ago, Chairman Kim Jong Il of the National Defence Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, started working on the Central Committee of the ruling Workers’ Party of Korea.

Since then, radical turns were brought about in the work of the WPK.

H.E. Kim Jong Il developed the Party into an ideologically integrated whole.

In those days, when he started working on its Central Committee, leadership authority of the leaders of the ruling parties of the socialist countries was being abused and they were experiencing difficulties and hardships due to the manoeuvres by the modern revisionists. H.E. Kim Jong Il raised the Juche idea authored by H.E. Kim Il Sung, the founder of the WPK, as the invariable guiding ideology of the WPK, and ensured that the ideological unity of the Party was strengthened in every way possible, thus transforming it into an ideologically pure entity, organizationally complete whole and integral whole in action. When the ruling parties of the socialist countries were dissolved in the late 1990s, he published several works, proving the scientific accuracy and truthfulness of socialism, so as to make the WPK hold high the banner of socialism.

In the wake of collapse of socialism in several countries of the world in the 1990s, the allied imperialist forces imposed vicious sanctions to stifle and isolate the DPRK. In the face of the harshest-ever trials, he further developed and enriched the unique Songun idea which is rooted in the Juche idea. And he administered the Songun politics as the basic political mode of socialism and the leadership mode of the WPK, firmly safeguarding the sovereignty and dignity of the country from the manoeuvres of the allied imperialist forces; the DPRK strengthened its self-defence capabilities in every way possible, won victory in the unprecedented anti-imperialist confrontation and struggle to defend socialism and overcame all difficulties, thus laying firm foundations for building a powerful socialist country by dint of army-people unity.

The idea and exploits of H.E. Kim Jong Il will forever remain in the heart of the world progressive people.

In conclusion, it is so important to note that the world progressive people are sure that the Korean people will achieve their final victory in building a powerful nation under the wise leadership of H.E. Kim Jong Un who has thoroughly carried forward and further develop the idea of H.E. Kim Il Sung and H.E. Kim Jong Il.
